Textile Recycling & Upcycling
Used Textiles: We source materials (including all the furniture in our store) primarily from local textile “waste” streams in Montreal, including donations, thrift stores, and textile waste collection programs. This reduces waste and supports the local community.
New Materials: When sourcing new materials for repair, we prioritize:
Organic, recycled, or upcycled materials with transparent certifications (e.g., GOTS, GRS, Oeko-Tex).
Local suppliers who adhere to environmental and labor standards.
Biodegradable or easily recyclable materials to minimize environmental impact.

Labour Practices
Fair Labour Standards: We require all suppliers to adhere to the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, ensuring fair wages, safe working conditions, and no forced or child labor.

Certifications: We encourage suppliers to obtain recognized certifications (e.g., B Corp, Bluesign, or Fairtrade) to demonstrate compliance with sustainability and ethical standards.
Environmental Impact
Environmental Compliance: Suppliers must comply with local environmental regulations and our sustainability standards, which include reducing water and energy usage, minimizing waste, and using non-toxic chemicals.
